Mustangs Open Season vs the Greenbrier Bobcats
The Mustangs will take the field to open the 2008 season against the
Greenbrier Bobcats. The Bobcats already have one win for the 2008
season, with a week zero thriller over over John Paul II High
School.
This game will also feature
two players, both named Zack, who are primary weapons for each team.
For the Mustangs this would be Zack Rogers, and for the Bobcats it
would be Zack Ziegler. Both players are speedy members of the
offensive and defensive backfield; while both of them are also
excellent receivers. Both Zack Rogers and Zack Ziegler can also
claim a University of Tennessee Volunteer lineage as well. Most
Mustang fans are aware of Zack Roger's brother Austin, another
former Mustang, who is a leading wide receiver for the Vols. What
may not be as widely known is that Zack Zeigler's father Kelly was a
stand-out linebacker for the Vols in the 1980's and is currently one
of the assistant coaches for the Bobcat football team
Any way you look at it, this game should be a great one to kick off
the 2008 season for the Mustangs. The game will be at the DLHS Reese Smith Field at
7:00
PM this Friday.
Come out and support the Mustangs!
Lipscomb Sports Network Adds Webcast to Mustang Football
Coverage
August 29th, 2008 will not only mark the opening game for the 2009
Season for the David
Lipscomb Mustangs but it will also be a banner day for the David
Lipscomb Football Program. The
Lipscomb Sports Network
has truly arrived as it will webcast the 2008 regular season home
games...Live. Preparations are taking place at this time to present a
live webcast (via
the internet). Mustang and
High School football fans
will be able to watch the team live with real time video and audio (The
Radio Feed) world wide. Links to catch the action live will appear on
the MustangFanPage. Away games will hopefully be replayed the following
week taped delayed. We are also hopeful of providing additional
football programming as well, such as the replay of past Lipscomb Games
and past season highlight films.
This new feature will allow the potential of 24 hours a day of Lipscomb
programming which will include other sports action, special classroom
presentations, drama productions, Coaches Clinics, and Promos on
Lipscomb. If you are interested in becoming involved with this venture
please let us know.
Mustang Booster Club Tailgate
The Mustang Booster Club will be hosting a tailgate prior
to the Lipscomb vs Greenbrier game on August 29 from 5:00 to 6:30.
Bar-b-que, burgers, potato salad, beans, dessert, and a drink for $8.00,
and $4.00 for kids 11 and younger. Greenbrier fans are also invited to
join the fun. This tailgate will be held on the baseball field (adjacent
to the football field) and will feature a Bluegrass band. Some seating
and tables will be provided, but you may bring your lawn chair and
blankets as well.

Reserved
Purple Seat Holder Renewals
Reserved Purple Seat renewals for the 2008
football season are underway. The cost is $100 and includes a football
season ticket to all home regular season varsity, JV, freshman and middle school
games. Again this year, one reserved parking place will come with every
two seats purchased. The reserved parking lot on Friday nights will again
be behind the scoreboard and season ticket holders will be able to enter the
stadium through the gate at that end of the field.
Mustang Booster Club has contacted the
company that installed the seats four years ago and an adjustment/improvement is
being made over the summer to the seats. All current reserved seat holders
should have received a letter already outlining the details. Deadline for
returning your renewal is June 15, 2008 to Mike and Dee Dee Ralston. If
you should have any questions, please give the Ralstons a call or contact a
member of the Mustang Booster Club. After June 15th, all
seats will be made available to the general public.
Reserved Seats are a great way to guarantee
your seat to all football games as well as have a reserved parking place as an
added benefit. The Mustang Booster Club looks forward to seeing you
“between the 40’s” this fall.
