A Look of how the Uniforms have changed over the Years
The Lipscomb Football Chronicles
The 1930 teams had red and white jerseys with numbers just on the back.
The teams wore either the white jersey with piping over the shoulder or the purple one. White helmets with numerals and yellow gold pants with purple white piping on the side. The jersey was 100 cotton.
Helmet had a stick- on Lipscomb football logo. The stripes down the middle was actually a tape.
Note the tube socks and white cleats. Pants and jerseys were of a polyester blend. Numerals on front, back, and sleeves. Pants were yellow gold with a solid Pittsburg purple stripe down the legs. A purple jersey that matched the white one was considered the away top.

1980-1982
The team returned to white pants with gold on purple piping. Jerseys were Purple with yellow gold solid lettering with white sleeves and numerals with purple piping. They also had a yellow jersey with purple numbers and white sleeves with yellow gold piping. Helmets were Yellow Gold.
This year solid color jerseys were reintroduced. Pants remained white with gold on purple piping down the legs. Numerals on the jerseys were gold on white. Helmets were solid yellow gold
The only major changes during this period, the helmet added a purple on white stripe and the pants were now a yellow gold with purple and white piping down the legs.
The Lipscomb look was introduced. Solid Purple Helmet, solid purple jersey with white lettering on yellow gold trim and a white jersey with purple lettering with yellow trim. Pants were now yellow gold with the purple Pittsburgh stripe down the legs. Since the Mustangs wore purple at home, Coach Mac had Lipscomb put on the back on the jersey on the away white tops. So the opponent would know who they were playing.
New uniforms were purchased for the team, pants, a white and purple jersey. The purple jersey from the appearance is very similar to the ones that were worn during the 90's thru the 2004 season. The difference is that the 2005 jersey is tapered and gathered at the sleeve. The White jersey is also tapered and gathered sleeve with LIPSCOMB across the back. The white jersey also included a larger collar with purple piping. The pants are also cut a little tighter and with a more vibrant color with the Pittsburgh stripe down the paint legs. The helmets remained a solid purple cap.
