1993-2004, TSSAA's Best 2A Team
Lipscomb, TSSAA's
All-Time 2A
 Winningest Football Team
The TSSAA's Earl Nall, best known for his Weekly Prep Football rankings, today confirmed a topic of conversation that began several months ago.  Nall who has recorded and documented every high school football game played in the State of Tennessee since the re-alignment of 1993 just announced the top winning teams in all classifications.  The Mustangs were the top 2A team and were third overall in the State within all classifications with a winning percentage of .838.  The conversation started after the TSSAA announced the new alignments effective for the 2005 Season within the Lipscomb community.  It then spread to the Coaching staffs at both Tyner and Alcoa High Schools which led to the contact with Earl Nall of the TSSAA.  While many people view Murphy Fair as the high school football guru of Tennessee, Earl Nall is the numbers guy for the State.  He has a great understanding of how the numbers work.  He was very gracious in helping us come up with the information and we could not have confirmed this story without his effort.  He plans on his own public notice of his findings within the next couple of weeks on his website www.earlnall.com.
